What Degree Or New Skills Should I Chose To Increase My Chances Of Being Successful & Wealthy?
What Degree Or New Skills Should I Chose To Increase My Chances Of Being Successful & Wealthy? |
I will let you into a secret that nobody who sells Education or Skills Courses will tell you. It is not a particular degree or skill that can make you successful and or wealthy. If that was the case then everyone doing a particular degree or learning a particular skill would be successful and rich, and we know that does not happen.
In order to learn how to be successful, we have to compare the traits of successful people versus those that may be working hard but are struggling. We learn that those that have made it, did not necessarily "make it" due to their education or technical skills but they do have the following common traits.
- They are disciplined in whatever they do in their personal and professional lives
- They are focused with minimal distractions
- They have a high level of Emotional Intelligence
- They can motivate themselves and do not need others to continually push them
- They have patience. It can take 5-10 years to make lasting positive changes to your life so they care more about the direction of travel and steady progress rather than trying to run as fast as possible.
- They have the art of persuasion which they use to sell and convince others about their skills, ideas, and products
- They continually improve themselves rather than get stuck in their ways. With time they adapt, unlearn, and relearn if they need to
- They know the art of delegation and people management which allows them to recover or retain their greatest asset, their time
- They sacrifice a part of their lives for their cause. They sacrifice sleep, personal time, short term enjoyment, and gratification in order to achieve their goals
- They know how to brand themselves to make them appear professional, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. It doesn't matter how skilled you are if your social feeds are full of childish or offensive content
- They are financially literate, once they start making money they know how to manage it, invest it and grow it.
So in summary, you can be successful in almost any field if you have most of the qualities above so rather than jump from skill to skill and course to course you should adopt the traits above and deploy your existing skills in a better way.
If you look around, you will see extremely successful people in the skills you may already have. The key difference between you and them will probably be the above qualities, and none of these will be taught in the degree or course you select. Its down to you to build them. If you have these traits you can pick any field or skill that interests you.
